Operating smoke alarms cut the threat of dying in a residence fire by 50%, and that's vital for the reason that a residence fire starts every 83 seconds! The more rapidly you know about a fire, the faster you can start off moving your household outside. The Initial Alert smoke alarm with lithium battery provides you the peace of mind of a 10-year battery life warranty. It makes use of ionization smoke sensing technologies with a new contemporary enhanced smoke gathering style. It features a low battery alert to remind you when to alter the battery and has a missing battery guard to guarantee that a battery is placed inside the alarm. The side battery drawer slides open for straightforward battery replacement. A blinking power indicator on the unit confirms that it is receiving power. The silence/test button makes it possible for you to both silence a non-threatening alarm and to test the unit's functionality. The alarm contains an optional pin to lock the battery and unit in location for tamper resistance. It can be mounted on either the ceiling or the wall and can be made use of in mobile houses and RVs. It includes one 9-volt lithium power cell with 10-year battery life warranty. 10-year restricted warranty on alarm unit. UL listed for safety. Approved for sale in Oregon.--Bree Norlander

Customer Critiques

I purchased 2 of these alarms to replace a couple other alarms in my property as they had been about 15 yrs. old believed it could possibly be smart to "update". The extended-life lithium batteries was a actual selling pont to me. The 1 thing that issues me about these new detectors is that are not almost as sensitive as my old detectors had been. My wife ocassionally burns points while cooking, or gets the oven also hot. My old detectors would "go off" when this occurred. These new ones have not signalled when this occurs but the old ones still do. I tested the new ones by heating an iron skillet on the stove with a bit of grease in it. LOTS of smoke bellowed out, the old detectors sounded immediately but it took a couple minutes longer and a lot more smoke for the new ones to finally signal. Hope this isn't more than-reaction on my behalf but I sort of like the sensitivity level of the older detectors compared to the new ones.

I was happy to see this model come out with a extended life Lithium battery. I have about 4 of these in my residence and it annoys me to have to change batteries at four:00am to stop the chirping. Installation is effortless, detector is loud and easy to operate. Worst complaint is the ugly design as it looks a bit also industrial for indoor use.
